In the exercise of my official duties, I recused myself from any discussion or decision regarding the appointment of Edward M. Iacobucci as a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario and Judge ex officio of the Court of Appeal for Ontario, in order to avoid an opportunity to further the private interests of a former colleague.
On June 29th, 2021 and July 14th, 2021, in the exercise of my official duties as Minister of Public Services and Procurement, I recused myself from participating in any discussions and decisions regarding the COVID testing strategy at the Canadian border as there could be implications for OMERS Infrastructure, which is the subject of the conflict of interest screen implemented to ensure my compliance with the Conflict of Interest Act.
On May 11, 2021, in the exercise of my official duties, I recused myself from discussions and decisions concerning the ferry services between New Brunswick and the Prince Edward Island as well as between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island as there could be implications for the Confederation Bridge, which is subject to the conflict of interest screen implemented to ensure my compliance with the Conflict of Interest Act.
